Thursday September 15,2011
Since the class was not scheduled to meet today, I decided to use this time to work on my presentation project in the comfort of the Miller Center. It was a bit noisier than I expected, but I still managed to get a majority of my presentation completed.
I hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend.

The Write Place
I visited The Write Place on Monday, September 12.
I talked with a desk worker about the services The Write Place offered. She said they have free handouts on various writing topics and that they also offer consultation sessions free of charge. She also stated that they will not look at your paper unless you’re sitting with a consultant; so don't expect to just drop off a paper and pick it up later.
When I asked her about extended hours, she said that they stay open until 7pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.
She also mentioned that they have another location in the Miller Center, but they are only open until 4pm.

Leo Topic Selection
While browsing the LEO site I came across a page that offered some Strategies for Editing and Proofreading. Since this is an area that I struggle in. I believe that this would be a good topic for me to present.
One strategy listed suggested reading the paper backward one sentence at a time so your not distracted by the content. I will definitely try this on my next writing project.
