Global communication is the sharing of information and ideas with people and cultures from across the globe and as global communication gets easier our countries become more interconnected and interdependent. This interdependence or globalization has had some positive and negative social, political, and economic impacts that have been witnessed over the past ten years.


Thesis: Global communication and its globalizing effect has had both positive and negative social, political, and economic impacts.

A. Globalization as a result of global communication has had positive social, political, and economic impacts.
     1. Globalization has had positive social impacts.
         a) The ability to experience and learn about new cultures through social media.
         b) The ability to coordinate relief when a national disaster strikes.
    
      2. Globalization has had positive political impacts.
         a) Easier for governments to work together to accomplish goals.
         b) Increased awareness of civil rights violations, and the ability to influence change.


     3. Globalization has had positive economic Inpacts
         a) Increased opportunities for businesses to expand.
         b) Lower cost products for consumers because of increased competition.


B. Globalization as a result of global communication has had negative social, political, and economic impacts
     1. Globalization has had negative social impacts.
          a) Cultures become westernized.
          b) Exploitation of workers from outsourcing.
     
     2. Globalization has had negative political impacts.
          a) Decreased environmental standards when countries are exploited for cheap labor.
          b) Increased terrorism because of incompatible political beliefs.
     
     3. Globalization has had negative economic impacts.
          a) Global economies crumbling.
          b) Movement of jobs to other countries (outsourcing).

Conclusion:
While there are many positive aspects to global communication and its globalizing effect such as the ability to exchange ideas, assist in emergencies, and to trade with people and cultures from across the globe. Global communication has negative aspects that if left uncontrolled could globalize the world to the point where nations lose their individualism that make them great on their own.
